Have you ever felt emotionally homeless?

Have you ever felt emotionally homeless?

When we think of the term homeless, we only think of people who are physically homeless without a job, money, food or shelter. There are a lot of people who live on the streets but then there is another group of people who have a physical structure where they live but lack a loving, caring home like environment where they don’t feel happy.Finding peace for our complex emotions can seem like a challenge. The absence of a safe space to acknowledge and express these difficult feelings can leave us feeling emotionally homeless.

A home is more than just a roof over your head or a place to sleep.A home is the feeling of secureness, love, and belongingness. For a child, it is the starting point of becoming who they are. Many people think that the answer to a homeless person is just to provide a shelter, but this is not always the solution.

As children, our vulnerability leaves us dependent on our caregivers to guide us towards physical and emotional safety, helping us process and make sense of our experiences. Regrettably, when this support is lacking, we find ourselves tackling it alone, battling the sense of danger that engulfs children into emotional homelessness.

Yet, amidst the darkness, there is hope. By recognizing the ways in which our past has shaped us, we unlock the power to reclaim our emotional well-being.

Remember, dear reader, that your emotional journey is unique and deserving of gentle care. And on this path of self-discovery, may you uncover the transformative power of emotional homecoming.
